When discussing electronic medical records companies, it is important here to realize that there are many software companies AND many resellers of that software. So, it is important to know if the company you are working with is a "reseller" or if you are actually working with the main company. There may be a local "value added reseller" closer to you than the bigger national software company. Typically, these companies not only work with the software, but also provide customization, training, implementation, and support. In my opinion, it adds a certain "comfort" level to knowing that you have a local reseller that manages more than just the software. Typically, these local value added resellers can provide a
"turn-key" solution for you and have you up and running much quicker.
