Voice Recognition Software

There was an interesting article published in the the American Journal of Emergency Medicine showing how Voice Recognition Software was nearly as accurate as traditional transcribing, had a much shorter turnaround time, and is less expensive than traditional transcribing.

The chief complaint I hear from people I know who use Voice Recognition is that of "ambient noise." The Voice Recognition seems to pick up any kind of ambient noise and tries to translate it.

I have also heard that for those who have English as their second language, the Voice Recognition has a hard time picking up various dialects and subtleties.
